Better be careful what you tweet! Kacey Musgraves learned the hard way what happens when you write something controversial on social media, and she felt the wrath from dozens of Twitter users are a highly offensive tweet about gun control following the Orlando shootings. See her message & fans’ reactions here.
Kacey Musgraves, 27, did NOT think this one through. After the tragic Orlando shootings that left 50 dead and at least 53 injured, the country singer took to Twitter to suggest we should go back to a time when everyone carried guns and it was no big deal. Wait….WHAT?! Naturally, she got some MAJOR backlash for it…
“Let’s go back to saloon days where every muthaf***a is carryin a revolver and anyone walkin in to disturb the peace might maybe thing twice,” she wrote. Umm…totally not appropriate given the situation!
The 27-year-old began getting flooded with angry tweets and she quickly deleted her message, then issued an apology. “Look. Emotions are high today, “she explained. “Mine included. Just hating hate. Lots of opinions in the mix. LOVE is the only true answer. Hard subject tho. All I know is something isn’t working. I love y’all and my true intent is peaceful.”
Kacey’s controversial comment comes after Omar Mateen, 29, opened fire on an unsuspecting crowd at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando on June 12. In the end, he was killed after a shootout with police, but not after taking the lives of dozens of innocent people first.
The “Follow Your Arrow” singer was obviously just one of many celebs to comment on this tragedy: Kim Kardashian, 35, also sent a tweet, in which she begged for stricter gun control laws and Adele broke down in tears during a concert hours after the massacre, to name a few. Our hearts are with the victims and their families during this extremely difficult time.
@KaceyMusgraves More violence is never the answer. You should know better.

@KaceyMusgraves That was the most idiotic tweet I've seen all day. Truly sad.

@KaceyMusgraves No one wants to hear your thoughtless, careless stance on guns. Stick to writing shitty songs about biscuits and gravy.
