Fans of YouTube sensation and former The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie, 22, are absolutely devastated by the news that the singer has been shot multiple times while doing a meet and greet after a June 10 concert in Orlando. Already the top trending topic on Twitter is “Pray for Christina,” which is what her fans are doing, including The Voice judge Blake Shelton. Update: Christina sadly passed away, HollywoodLife.com can now confirm.
Christina had just wrapped up a performance at the Plaza Live Theater in Orlando, FL and was doing a meet and greet with fans alongside her fellow act, the pop/punk band Before You Exit before things took a terrifying turn. A man walked up to her and shot her, according to Orlando PD. He was then tackled by the singer’s brother and turned the gun on himself, leaving him dead and Christina in critical condition.
The singer competed on season six of The Voice and finished in third place under team Adam Levine. Christina is also a beloved YouTube sensation where she has garnered to many fans. Naturally they were completely horrified by the awful news and soon took to Twitter as “Pray for Christina” rocketed to the top of trends. The show’s judge Blake Shelton announced he’ll be looking to the sky and praying for the singer to pull through after this terrifying tragedy.
