In the wake of singer Christina Grimmie’s tragic death, her fans have come together to support her family by donating much-needed money in their time of need. Christina’s fans raised over $34,000 in less than one day!
Less than a day after singer Christina Grimmie, 22, was ruthlessly murdered by Kevin James Loibl, 27, outside of her concert in Orlando, her fans raised an unfathomable $34,000+ for her family! The “Support The Grimmie Family” GoFundMe account surpassed its goal by leaps and bounds, and was growing larger by the minute. Read on for more about the account, set up by Christina’s manager, Brian Teefey — Selena Gomez‘s stepdad!
Brian set up the GoFundMe account to help Christina’s family as they struggle with her unconscionable murder at the hands of the gunman, who fatally shot her as she was signing autographs for fans. Christina had just finished performing a powerhouse opening set for Before You Exit at Plaza Live in Orlando, when Kevin, who had no reported connection to The Voice season six finalist, decided to take her life.
Brian wrote on the GoFundMe page that he decided to make the fundraising page because Christina’s selfless family put everything into helping her achieve her dreams. Selena’s kind stepfather said that he didn’t want them to worry while they were dealing with this unthinkable tragedy:
Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling. I learned this business through the eyes of a father and Christina was like a second daughter to me. All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business. I never could have imagined this horrific event being one of the pitfalls needing to be avoided. In Christina’s honor I have created a Go Fund Me page to assist her family in their time of need. As family Mother, Father, and Brother made the ultimate family sacrifice to support Christina on her musical journey. They did nothing but love her and support her as family the best they knew how, the only worry I want them to have at this point is that of recovery.
Grimms I love you, and miss you beyond comprehension.

Selena was overwhelmed by grief when she heard about what had happened to her dear friend. Upon learning about Christina’s tragic murder, Selena tweeted, “My heart is absolutely broken. I miss you Christina,” along with a sweet photo of the two girls being super silly together.
