OMG! A 5.1 magnitude earthquake shock the state of California, and naturally residents took to Twitter to share their hilarious reactions to the scary shaking. Click inside to see what they said!
Early on Friday morning, June 10, the earth shook underneath California’s foundation waking up most of it’s residents. Since earthquakes are a pretty frequent occurrence for Californians, they’ve built up a pretty great sense of humor about them, which is why it’s no surprise they immediately hoped on social media to share some hilarious tweets and memes as their reactions.
Whoa, did you feel that? Well, unless you live in or around the San Diego, California area… you probably didn’t. Thankfully, the people that did shared their reactions online so we would know exactly how they were feeling after the ground beneath them shook them wide awake in the middle of the night.
While some people were legitimately terrified after the 5.1 earthquake took place, others had a pretty great sense of humor about it. As you’ll see in the multiple tweets below, lots of Cali residents hopped onto Twitter to let people know that they had been woken up and couldn’t fall back asleep. Others were just flat out hilarious about the entire thing, immediately sharing a meme or gif about how they were feeling in the moments after the quake. Even Ashley Benson tweeted about it!
However, the funniest of the bunch were definitely the tweets about “rebuilding” after the quake. One picture shows a pillow falling off of a couch, while another shows a chair has fallen over in someone’s backyard. The people who posted those are obviously mocking the situation, letting everyone know that as scary as a 5.1 earthquake sounds, for them it’s just a little shaking!
We’re glad California is doing okay after the earthquake. Check out their hilarious tweets below:
