This is too good. When Tegan and Sara, the biggest twins in music, are faced with two other familiar faces, naturally, hijinks ensue. WATCH what happens when Drew and Jonathan Scott, AKA the Property Brothers, take on the Canadian pop duo in an intense twin battle!
We’re seeing double, double! At last, we got the twin parody we deserve: Jonathan and Drew Scott vs. Tegan and Sara Quin in the ultimate fight of who’s better at being identical siblings! Take a look and find out who “twins” right here.
Warning: this video includes extremely clever insults, entertaining bouts of dancing, Chris Hardwick, rather decent cross-dressing, and on-point parodies of Tegan, Sara and the Scott Brothers’ personalities.
In the video, it’s a normal day for Tegan and Sara, who are hard at work promoting their new album Love You To Death. Suddenly, their autograph signing session is interrupted by a fake Entertainment Tonight segment, during which we’re treated to a delightful, teeny parody of T+S’ new single “Boyfriend”. “There’s a new dynamic duo in twin town named the Scott Brothers, who are set to crash the doubles party with their new single ‘Girlfriend’,” the camerawoman announces. Cue Property Brothers‘ Jonathan and Drew riffing on the already-spoofed song, sporting the same makeup and jackets as the women.
It only escalates from there, with the Quin twins furiously challenging the brothers to a contest (“You clones wanna dance?”) of twindom. As the pairs attempt to one-up each other, points are given for who was born closer together (Scotts) and who’s better at twin telepathy (Quins) — but things get awkward when one of the Property Bros lets it slip that they were “conjoined by the d*ck at birth”. Priceless!
