Before strutting their stuff at the Miss USA peagant, the Backstreet Boys hit the stage at KTUPhoria 2016 in Wantagh, NY — and HollywoodLife was there to chat with the guys!
A lyric has never been so true as this one from Backstreet Boys‘ “Everybody”: “As long as there’ll be music, we’ll be coming back again.” That’s right — all five of the guys are currently working on a new album, planning another tour, and yes, heading to Las Vegas.
“[The album] is just now getting started. We wanna have it done by the end of the year, and then hopefully something ready to come out in Spring. Then going on tour, everything,” Kevin Richardson told HollywoodLife.com at 103.5 KTU’s KTUphoria on June 4.
They also chatted with KTU before the show, explaining that they’ve already started cutting some songs, and this year will all be recording time.
Of course, things are a little different than they used to be since they all have families — but AJ McLean just said now, their wives and kids come along! “Oh yeah, we bring our families out there with us — around the US & in Europe! Absolutely.”
Speaking of a tour, they talked briefly on the Spice Girls rumors — which unfortunately, are dunzo.
“It kind of fizzled out,” AJ told KTU. “From what I’ve head, they want to do their own tour, we’re making a brand new album. Everyone’s doing their own thing. God willing down the road maybe it could happen, but as of right now, it’s not happening.”
The hottest topic for the guys right now though, is the talk of a Vegas residency; they recently confirmed a trial run was happening. “We can’t say anything,” Nick Carter said, but Kevin did let us know that a “big announcement” will be coming soon. “Next year were gonna do some dates. We can’t say much, but yes, we will be in Vegas next year.”
