Dressed in head-to-toe black with a fitted tuxedo jacket and rhinestone embellished leggings, Xtina’s new red hair really popped when she took the stage to sing her 2006 hit, “Ain’t No Other Man.”
Shah Karegar was behind Xtina’s red hair makeover, and while we’re totally obsessed with the new red shade, we don’t think it will be a permanent look. A day before Xtina debuted the fiery hue, Shah shared a pic of himself on Instagram hand painting a wig the very same red color.
While her color may have changed, hairstylist Chris Appleton did keep Xtina’s favorite glam waves, brushing her hair off to the side and adding voluminous curls to her new red mane. Makeup artist Etienne Ortega also kept Xtina’s signature makeup look the same, giving her a matte red lip and oversized lashes.
Even though platinum blonde has been Christina’s hair color of choice for years now, the singer has definitely been experimenting with her hair looks lately, so her red color isn’t a complete surprise. During The Voice, she rocked every style imaginable from braided updos to a sleek and straight bob. She even briefly took her platinum locks a lilac shade with the help of Shah and Chris, showing she’s not afraid to play with color.
