YES! The UFC fight we’ve all been waiting so patiently for, and had canceled on first time round, is back on! Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will FINALLY get back into the octagon for a fight on Aug. 20 at UFC 202, in what will be the match of the century. Click to read the details!
OMG! It’s happening! And we guess this puts pay to those Floyd Mayweather, 39, rumors! Conor McGregor, 27, will get back into the octagon with Nate Diaz, 31, on Aug. 20, for what will be the most-anticipated fight in UFC history, and we are just so excited about it we can barely contain ourselves!
The welterweight rematch we’ve all been waiting for has been green-lit to take place in Las Vegas at the newly built T-Mobile Arena. UFC fans will remember it was originally due to take place at UFC 200 on July 9, but after a HUGE and well documented argument between Conor and UFC over promoting the fight, he was pulled from the card and the fight was canceled.
Conor, UFC president Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta had clear-the-air talks in Los Angeles back in Mid-May, with the hope of having the rematch at UFC 202. However, that all came crashing down when Nate wasn’t happy with the financial package he was set to receive, and talks stalled.
It appears, for now though, that the fight is back on. Conor will be hoping to get revenge on Nate, who inflicted The Notorious’ first ever defeat in the UFC at UFC 196 back in March.
Conor, who actually still holds the UFC featherweight championship, will be hoping that going up to welterweight won’t be a stretch too far for him in the power stakes. Either way, his title won’t be on the line but his reputation will certainly be tarnished if he loses again!
The buzz around this one is going to be huge, and we just cannot wait till August 20 to see these two square off again. It’s going to be one hell of a fight!
HollywoodLifers, who do you think will win the rematch? Will it be Conor’s time to win back his belt? Or will Nate be too strong for the Irishman again? Tell us what you think below!
