She’s on the cusp! Serena Williams is one game away from reclaiming her French Open title. But standing in the way is Spanish tennis sensation Garbine Muguruzu. Something will have to give between these two when they meet on June 4 at 9am EST, but who will come out the champion? Click here to watch the live stream and find out!
Serena Williams, 34, is just simply playing tennis on another planet right now. But that doesn’t mean she will win the French Open Women’s Singles Final that easily though! She faces a really tough opponent in Garbine Muguruzu, 22, who on her day can beat anyone on the tennis court. Want to watch this one? Well, click down for our live stream and don’t miss a single serve!
Some cracks may be appearing in Serena’s game in her quarterfinal and semifinal match-ups, she lost her first and only set of the tournament against Yulia Putintseva and was pushed mighty hard in her last game against Kiki Bertens. But you can bet she will be focused when it comes to final time.
Where Garbine won’t be intimidated by Serena is in the power game. The Venezuelan-born athlete stands at 6ft tall and possesses a mighty serve herself. She’s also incredibly handy with a return, so expect to see many exciting rallies as the girls size each other up game by game.
And who can forget back in 2014, when Garbine actually beat Serena at Roland Garros in a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win. Could history repeat itself, or will Serena get revenge?
It’s going to be a close game, but we’d be foolish to bet against Serena from winning this one, especially given how well she’s playing at the moment.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Serena will reclaim her title and move on to 22 Grand Slams? Or will Garbine show what she’s made of and shock the champ? Tell us what you think will happen below.
