Another one bites the dust! ‘The View’ reportedly just lost another one of its co-hosts. Michelle Collins will be stepping down as co-host of the popular talk show after just one season. Get all the details here!
The View is saying goodbye to another one of its beloved co-hosts. It was announced on June 3 that Michelle Collins, 34, will be leaving the show, a new report claims. This is terrible — The View seems to be losing people left and right these days!
Michelle has yet to publicly address the situation, but it looks like the execs in charge made the decision to cut her from the show, Deadline reports. “Michelle is smart, opinionated and funny. She’s been a great addition to the panel this year. When we are ready to make an announcement about next season, we will,” a representative from ABC said.
Awkward! Public firings are the worst, but it’s hard to say in this situation that fans didn’t see this one coming. Michelle has had less and less air time in the last few months, and it didn’t look like the show was planning on giving her any more time on-camera. Perhaps she decided it was time to fly the coop and spread her wings.
Michelle came on the show when almost everyone was leaving. Rosie O’Donnell, 54, Nicolle Wallace, 44, and Rosie Perez, 51, all left the show last season, and Barbara Walters had previously retired, so there was a lot of dead space that needed to be filled. Everyone thought they had found the perfect host in Michelle, but sadly, it looks like they were wrong.
Michelle is a hilarious comedian, and this show gave her lots of exposure, so we’re sure that she will land on her feet sooner or later. Maybe someone is willing to give her a talk show of her own? Because we would totally tune in every day of the week for that.
