Talk about a slam dunk! With the NBA finals upon us, Jimmy Kimmel is breaking out an all hoops star version of his amazing ‘Mean Tweets’ segment. Keep reading to see if one of your favorite players got to read messages from haters.
Pro ballers are used to taking on their fair share of haters, which makes Jimmy Kimmel‘s NBA Mean Tweets segment June 2 all the more amazing. To mark the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers first game in the battle of the NBA championship, he got some of the sports’ biggest players young and old to read hilariously cruel social media messages about them.
Golden State’s superstar and two-time league MVP Steph Curry had the pleasure of sharing, “Have you ever been downloading something online and halfway it just froze and couldn’t go anywhere? Think Steph Curry’s puberty,” which made the player laugh and say that was a good one burn-wise.
His teammate Klay Thompson had, “One day Klay Thompson is going to leave the house without remembering to attach the goatee he bought at Party City and it will be awkward.” Ouch!
“Russell Westbrook look like Jar Jar Binks,” the OKC Thunder star read out noting he had no idea who the Star Wars character was but that he’d take the Twitter user’s word for it.
“Reggie Miller‘s ears look like they could provide wifi,” the former pro-baller and current TV analyst read out as he said, “Hold on, let me check,” putting phone up to his ears and broke out in a huge grin to proclaim, “They do!”
“Shaq is a fat a** old man,” former Lakers great Shaquille O’Neal read off and quickly responded, “Who your mother loves.” Oh snap!
“I still have no idea how Jalen Rose has a job. He looks he sells bootleg DVD’s at a barbershop.” the former player and now ABC/ESPN hoops analyst deadpanned. Man, so cruel!
Jimmy got the honor of doing a prime time special to showcase the NBA Mean Tweets, as the championship game ended early for west coast viewers who didn’t have to stay up late to watch his show. But he treated his fans to the epic NBA star disses a little early when he dropped it on his YouTube page. This is definitely one of his most hilarious segments ever!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of the all-NBA Mean Tweets? Was it the funniest one yet?
