The ‘Gilmore Girls’ cast have been pretty tight-lipped about what’s coming up in the revival special on Netflix — but Jared Padalecki just said ‘probably a lot more than I’m supposed to.’ Watch here!
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is nearly here and we cannot wait. But what will this mean for Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel)? Will she choose Jess or Dean? Well, Jared Padalecki,, AKA Dean, recently revealed how the whole thing came about — it all started at Austin TV Fest last year when the cast reunited; so what did he tease about the four-episode special? Well, he’s in one scene.
“I will say probably a lot more than I’m supposed to,” he said during a recent Supernatural convention appearance. “[Amy Sherman-Palladino] basically said, ‘Listen, we’re going to write you a really cool scene and if you get a day off let us know we will just put your scene on the schedule for that day. ‘She was like, “It’s a set that we already run and own [and] it’s an actress that already is working every day, so let us know.”
“So Dean has a cool scene in the market he used to work at,” he said as the audience cheered loudly. “It’s a nice, a really nice scene that gave me closure.”
He also explained that when he left the show, it was very “abrupt” so he never really got to send off Dean appropriately. “For me, I never got closure. One day I was an actor on Gilmore Girls, the next day I was on a TV show and would never again be on Gilmore Girls. So for me as person, it was weird. I was like, what about Dean? The real Dean? The original Dean? OG Dean. So it was fun to go and wrap it up in a really cool way.”
Granted, we have no idea what this means — but one scene in the market sounds really quick. Unless they recreate Rory’s first kiss ever? What do you think? Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will consist of four 90-minute episodes and stream on Netflix.
