Michelle has been taking a lot of heat since her son fell into the gorilla exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo. Many people are grilling her for being a bad mom and irresponsible parent, not understanding how her 4-year-old could get away from her and into the enclosure. However, the new 911 call released on June 1 sounds like that of a loving mother, you can hear the concern and sheer terror in her voice.
“My son fell in the zoo exhibit at the gorilla — at the Cincinnati zoo,” she said in the panicked 911 call. “My son fell in with gorilla. There is a male gorilla standing over him.” Meanwhile you can hear her yelling to her son to “Be calm, be calm!”The most horrifying part is when she says “He’s dragging my son. I can’t watch this.”
The 911 call also gives us an understanding of the panicked atmosphere around the enclosure, Another onlooker can be heard yelling “There’s a baby in the zoo at gorilla moat. Hurry, hurry, the gorillas are out. Oh, my God.” Luckily, the child was saved, but at the cost of the life of the 400 pound endangered gorilla.
