Get ready for major spoilers! The post-credits scene that aired after X-Men: Apocalypse gave fans of a little taste as to what the future of the X-Men movies looks like. Here’s everything you need to know about the mind-blowing post-credits scene!
In X-Men: Apocalypse, young Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) help Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) escape from the Alkali Lake facility. Stryker had been doing terrible experiments on Wolverine, including erasing his memories and adding adamantium metal to his skeleton and claws.
Wolverine goes on a killing spree inside the facility, murdering the staff and guards. That’s where the post-credits scene picks up. After Wolverine’s massacre, we see a man enter the facility. He goes to find a vial of blood called “Weapon X” and puts it and other vials inside his briefcase. The briefcase belongs to Essex Corp.
That blood in the vial could very well belong to Wolverine, and the Essex Corp briefcase implies that Nathaniel Essex is involved. For those of you who don’t know who Nathaniel Essex is, he’s a villain who’s also known as Mister Sinister. He loves to experiment on mutants.
This post-credits scene could be the setup for the next Wolverine movie. The film, which will be released in 2017, is currently being filmed. If Mister Sinister hasn’t been cast, Bryan Cranston is certainly up for the role. He said he would totally be game to play Mister Sinister in a movie.
