T.I. is finally speaking out about the tragic shooting that took the life of a fan at his Irving Park concert May 25. The rapper is totally mourning the violence that took place, so keep reading for his heartbreaking message.
So devastating! T.I., 35, has broken his silence following the shooting at his New York concert that left one man dead and three others hurt. The musician has let his fans know that his “heart is heavy” over what went down and is praying for those that were injured.
“My heart is heavy today. Our music is intended to save lives, like mine and many others. My heartfelt condolences to the family that suffered the loss and my prayers are with those injured. Respectfully, Tip,” T.I. posted to his Instagram, featuring the message with a black background and white lettering.
He captioned the message, “Rest In Peace Bro. God bless,” referring to the death of Ronald McPhatter, 33, following the shooting backstage at his concert. Rapper Troy Ave, 33, has since been charged with attempted murder & criminal possession of a weapon for the terrifying incident, which was caught on videotape.
The aspiring rapper from Brooklyn is seen stumbling into the room and fires into the crowd while people cower behind couches and walls. It’s not clear if he knew the victim Ronald, who himself was facing attempted murder charges connection with a shooting in a Manhattan nightclub in Nov. 2015. Man, these guys really need to stop carrying loaded guns into clubs! Stream T.I.’s music, completely unlimited and ad-free, RIGHT HERE.
The terrifying scene unfolded before T.I. had a chance to take the stage and perform, but even those who were already in the audience heard the gunfire and were seen on video fleeing for their lives towards the exits. The rapper has another show in New York scheduled for May 29 at Parq nightclub, so hopefully they’ll have stepped up security big time to ensure another tragedy doesn’t occur.
