OMG this is so beyond terrifying! Gunfire broke out at T.I.’s concert in New York’s Irving Plaza May 25, wounding a member of the rapper’s crew!
Mayhem broke out at T.I.,’s Irving Plaza concert when someone opened fire in the crowd leaving for people shot, including Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave, 30. Find out if anyone was killed and how the 35-year-old rapper — real name Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. — is doing after the scary shooting went down!
**UPDATE**: Police now report four people were shot and one person, a 33-year-old male, has died. Rapper Troy Ave’s camp has confirmed he was grazed by a bullet but is going to be okay.
“Three people have been shot. Two males and one female. One male is likely to die. The other two are expected to survive. This happened at 10:15 pm at 17 Irving Place which is Irving Plaza Concert Hall. I can’t confirm if T.I. himself has been shot.” Detective Hubert Reyes, of the NYPD tells HollywoodLife.com. Local news reports the woman was shot in the leg and one of the men had a gunshot wound to the chest. But it’s so awful to think that another victim is probably going to die because of this.
Video immediately after the shooting by concert attendee Marco shows chaos as with crowd bursting out in terrified screams as everyone is in a mass rush to the exits of the 1,000 seat venue. He was up in a balcony when he heard the gunfire go off and says he has, “never been so scared in my life.”
From the video it appears T.I. had stopped playing after the event went down and it’s not clear if he was in the middle of a song when the shooting happened. So far the rapper hasn’t addressed the incident on his social media and we’re really hoping he’s doing okay.
