‘Finding Dory’ is almost here, and we’ve been given another epic trailer that has us super excited for the ‘Finding Nemo’ sequel! WATCH right here and try not to cry at the shocking plot tidbit that Dory might be leaving Marlin and Nemo once she finds her parents!
Woo hoo! A new Finding Dory trailer was shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on May 24, and we’ve got to say that this sequel just looks awesome. Read on to watch Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) and Co. cross oceans on a journey once again, this time to find out what happened to her family.
In this new trailer, we’re introduced once again to a bevy of fun new characters, all voiced by Hollywood royalty including Idris Elba and Dominic West as a hilarious pair of sea lions, Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy as Dory’s parents, and Ty Burrell as an octopus with only seven legs. Long story short, our favorite forgetful fish friend is captured by a marine life institute (why is everyone always getting kidnapped?), then Marlin and Nemo soon join her to help Dory seek out her parents! It’s all fun and games until Dory presumably finds her family, and Nemo asks, “Does this mean we have to say goodbye to Dory?” NOOOOOoooo.
Heartbreaking moments aside, Ellen told EW that she’s thrilled to be reviving Dory over a decade later. “I mean, she’s funny, but she’s obviously very relatable, which is why people like Dory so much. She’s trying to find her family, and she is very emotional about wanting to belong, and I think that is easy for anybody to relate to,” Ellen said. We agree!
Finding Dory comes 13 years after the smash hit Finding Nemo, and we’re so pleased to see that the sequel looks like it’s going to do the original justice. That’s not always the case, but we have to say, we’re so pumped for the flick!
