An autopsy done on late BMX rider Dave Mirra, 41, has revealed that the biker had Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, or CTE. It’s a progressive degenerative disease usually found in boxers, but most likely brought on by the concussions he experienced during his career and the fact that he took up boxing during his retirement. Fans are stunned by the news and have taken to twitter to express their shock!
Dave was one of the best riders to ever do it. He showed heart, charisma, and perseverance every time he went out to ride, so it shocked fans around the world when he took his own life on Feb. 4. Many people were left wondering what could possess a man so young, with so much going for him, to do such a thing.
