Could Gillian Anderson be the #NextBond? The ‘X-Files’ star’s fans would certainly love to see that happen! Gillian retweeted a fanmade poster of her as Jane Bond, and it’s actually amazing.
Gillian Anderson, 47, teased fans when she tweeted on May 21 that she’d love to be the next Bond — Jane Bond, that is! Check out the awesome mockup of Gillian as Jane right here.
Gillian shared the fake movie poster, made by a fan, to her 456k followers. “It’s Bond. Jane Bond. Thanks for all the votes! (And sorry, don’t know who made poster but I love it!)
#NextBond,” she wrote:

How cool is that? Since the The X-Files reboot has ended and Gillian’s play, A Streetcar Named Desire, ends on June 4, Gillian would totally have a clear enough schedule to star as the next Bond. Fans are certainly on board with the idea, and sparked the #NextBond campaign with Gillian at the center:

This social media campaign comes on the heels of Bond mainstay Daniel Craig deciding not to sign on for more films, shocking fans when he turned down a reported $100 million deal. Daniel starred in four films — Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre — but as he said back in Oct. 2015, he’d rather “slit his wrists” than play Bond again. As a result, the role is up for grabs, and we think it’s about time the character was taken on by a woman, a la Ghostbusters. Gillian would be a great choice for the 25th Bond film. Make it happen, Hollywood!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Gillian would make a great female Bond, or should they continue casting male actors to play the character? Tell us who your pick for #NextBond is!
