Damn, girl. Rihanna brought ‘Love On The Brain’ to the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, and her performance was so incredible that it left us speechless.
Rihanna, 28, sure knows how to put on a performance. The singer took the stage at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, May 22, in Las Vegas, Nevada to perform her latest song, “Love On The Brain,” off of her most recent album, ANTI. Truly stunning!
Rihanna used the BBMAs as a great opportunity to remind the world that it’s not all about twerking for Drake these days. Using her stunning, sexy voice, Rihanna belted out “Love On The Brain” with no frills. It was just Rihanna, her beautiful voice, a mic stand and her secluded backdrop.
Rihanna’s stage consisted of a green box, which was draped with sheer fabric that almost looked like slime. But, it didn’t take away from her flawless performance, in which she frequently had to skip over curse words. She did it with total class though, using sassy hand movements and dancing behind the mic with a sexy sway.
Sadly, there was no cameo by Drake, but it was really nice to see Rihanna just totally owning the soulful ballad without any surprises. Hopefully that’s her next single, and we’ll get a sexy video to go along with it soon!
It was a big night for Rihanna, because not only was she there to perform but she also had a handful of nominations to celebrate. Here’s what Rihanna was nominated for: Top Female Artist, Top R&B Artist and Top R&B Album.
