Poor Luis Suarez! The Barcelona soccer star left the field in tears at the Copa Del Rey final after suffering a painful hamstring injury — and it was all caught on tape. Watch the video of Luis crying right here!
Don’t cry, Luis Suarez! During the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla on May 22, the 29-year-old soccer player limped off the field after injuring his hamstring. Fortunately for Luis, his team was able to pull out a win for him, but he’s now questionable to play in this summer’s Copa America Centenario! Oh no!
Luis pulled his hamstring around the 55th minute of the match while reaching for the ball. He went down almost instantly, with medical staff rushing to his aid. After laying on the ground for a few minutes, Luis managed to get up, but not without help. As if limping wasn’t indicative enough that the striker was hurting, he couldn’t even hold back tears and cried his way off the field!
The tears continued as he sat on the bench injured watching the remainder of the game while clutching his leg. At least his injury wasn’t so bad that he had to be carted away, but it does put him in question for the Copa America Centenario, which would be a big disappointment to Luis, Barcelona and Uruguay fans, and Copa tournament organizers alike.
To make things even more heartbreaking for Luis and many soccer fans, he finished the 2016 regular season as the top scorer in La Liga — so obviously this is a huge loss! He was even set to start his Copa America campaign with Uruguay (his home country’s team) on June 5 against Mexico in Glendale, Los Angeles. Luis looked like his injury was pretty serious, but we certainly hope he’ll be able to play again sooner than it seems!
HollywoodLifers, send your well wishes to Luis as he recovers from his hamstring injury.
