The Preakness was first run in 1873 and this year’s favorite, Nyquist will be starting from the No. 3 post position. The 3-1 odds the favorite is giving may not be much to get you going but there are plenty of long shots in the field to excite even the most basic race fan. Awesome Speed is a pony which may not be able to live up to his name. Awesome is giving 30-1 odds and the race may be over before he makes it around the first turn.
Laoban, Fellowship, Abiding Star and Lani are all also sharing the long shot curse with similar crazy odds. Have some fun and put a few bucks on each! Cherry Wine and Uncle Lino will be shooting out of the 1 and 2 holes and are both 20-1 long shots. Rounding out the field is Collected and Stradivari who are looking at 10-1 and 8-1 respectively. Odds are subject to change depending on action leading up to post time and horses may get scratched as well, so good luck race fans!
