She’s baaaack! Kesha’s Billboard Music Awards performance is officially a go after Dr. Luke finally relented and will allow her to perform on the condition that she not to diss him during her appearance.
Hallelujah! The triumphant return of Kesha, 29, at the BBMAs is back on after Dr. Luke, 42, –a.k.a. Lukasz Gottwald — has approved her performance on the condition that she not talk about their ongoing legal battle and make that a big deal. See why he caved in and agreed to let her sing after blocking her appearance and her excited message to fans!
Kesha’s performance of Bob Dylan‘s “It ain’t me, babe” is officially on according to the BBMAs production company. “We are pleased that Kesha and Kemosabe Records have reached an agreement and very much look forward to having Kesha perform on the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday night on ABC,” Dick Clark Productions said in a statement May 19. Whew!
On May 17, the company revealed that she and Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe Records had “been unable to come to an agreement for Kesha to perform on the show,” after reports surfaced that the singer was planning to make a “statement” during about her battle with Sony and Dr. Luke during her appearance.
“Kesha’s performance…was always approved, in good faith” and was “only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation,” a rep for Kemosabe told PEOPLE magazine in a statement.
The label said approval was granted after the singer, her reps and Dick Clark Productions assured them “that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform.” .
