Did Ariana Grande just shade at Big Sean? Ari gushed about her ‘healthy life’ now that she’s dating her backup dancer Ricky Alvarez, and it seemed like an awfully big shot at her ex. Read what she said about her love life in a new interview right here!
Ariana Grande is in love, and it’s sure not with Big Sean anymore! When the 22-year-old revealed in a new interview that she is one happy girl with her boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, 24, she declared it in a way that sounded like Big Sean, 28, is totally out of sight and out of mind — and she’s living a much healthier life now. Talk about throwing some shade at someone you once loved!
“We’re happy. I’m a very happy girl,” Ariana told Billboard. “I have a healthy life right now, and I think that’s all anyone cares to know. The end.”
You tell ’em, Ari! She may not have named Sean in her statement about Ricky (yes, the man who was involved in the infamous Donutgate with Ariana), but she certainly sounds happier than ever, and that’s enough for Big Sean to know he just didn’t do it for her when they were together. In fact, Ariana said her breakup from Big Sean wasn’t very hard on her…even after dating for eight whole months!
Ariana had already admitted in another interview that she had moved on from her relationship with Big Sean, but her “healthy life” declaration just kind of put the cherry on top of the “forget you” sundae. But considering Big Sean has seemingly been publicly broing out with Justin Bieber — who Ariana is not so fond of — lately, he was kind of throwing out his own disses. So no wonder Ariana wanted to tell the world how happy she is with Ricky!
Although Ariana didn’t elaborate any more on her breakup with Big Sean or her current relationship with Ricky, her close friend Victoria Monet hinted that Ricky is the inspiration for the sweet love song “Moonlight” on her new album Dangerous Woman. “That’s what Ricky called her one night. I think it was after their first kiss,” Victoria told the mag. “He waited to kiss her for a long time, and she was really impressed. He’s such a gentleman, and the song is a great little bookmark of the start of their relationship.”
Aww, Ariana is one lucky girl! “Moonlight” wasn’t one of the songs that Ariana pre-released before her May 20 album release date, but there were plenty of other songs that let fans know how in love she is with Ricky (just take a listen to “Into You” and “Sometimes“!). So even if she doesn’t have any diss tracks on her album, it sounds like there’s plenty of romance songs on the record that aren’t about Big Sean…and that’s shade enough!
