Joe Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and the rest of the Jackson 5, was hospitalized after feeling weak during a doctor’s visit on May 13. Joe is still in the hospital with a ‘high fever’ and his family remains by his side!
Fans of the Jackson 5 better start sending their well wishes and thoughts to Joe Jackson. The 87-year old head of the Jackson family is currently in the hospital after an ordinary trip to his doctor suddenly turned incredibly scary!
Joe was visiting his personal doctor on May 13 for some routine tests, according to TMZ. While undergoing what was supposed to be a routine checkup, the father of the late Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson, 50, became “weak” with “a high fever.” Being that Joe is nearly 90-years-old, the doctor didn’t want to take any chances and rushed the former Jackson 5 manager to the hospital – where he’s been ever since!
The doctors and medical professionals have continued to treat Joe’s high fever, but they reportedly still “can’t pinpoint what’s exactly wrong” with him. Meanwhile, Joe’s family continues to stay by his side in the hospital, as son Jermaine Jackson, 61, told TMZ that he felt his dad’s condition was “slowly improving.”
Sadly, this is the latest in a long line of health scares for Joe. He suffered his third “mild” stroke in 2012, and he was in “high spirits” while seeking treatment in a Las Vegas hospital. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t be the last time a stroke landed him in a hospital bed.
While Joe was celebrating his 87th birthday in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the head of the Jackson family suffered yet another stroke. He was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Albert Einstein hospital and a statement from the medical staff said that he had an “irregular heartbeat.”
That “irregular heartbeat” may have been due to a mix of alcohol and Viagra. Joe reportedly took three of the little blue pill while partying, but his rep, Charles Coupet, said that Viagra was not involved in this latest stroke. Hopefully, the doctors treating him for this mystery fever figure out the problem so he can celebrate his 88th birthday out of the hospital.
Our thoughts are with the Jacksons during this time. HollywoodLifers, do you hope Joe comes out of this okay?
