The time has come to find out who’s moving on to the Season 10 finals of ‘The Voice.’ The pool of eight semifinalists was cut in half after the May 17 episode, and we have a full recap of the episode right here. Find out who made the Top 4!
All eight remaining contestants on The Voice gave incredible performances during the May 16 Semifinals, but only four of them can move on to next week’s Finals! So, which of Christina Aguilera, Pharrell, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton’s artists are staying in it and which are going home? Read our recap of the May 17 episode here!
After a quick chat with the coaches, it’s immediately time to start announcing some results. The first artist saved by America and moving on to the finals is…Adam Wakefield from Blake’s team! As Blake himself pointed out, with three singers left on his team, there were pretty good odds that at least one would get in — and we’ll see as the episode progresses if he can add anymore to his final group!
Next, Alicia Keys takes the stage for a performance of her new hit “In Common.” Alicia is slated to be a coach on next season of the show, and after this, we really can’t wait to see her alongside Blake, Adam and Miley Cyrus, 23, in the fall. She’s going to bring SUCH a great dynamic to The Voice!
The fun doesn’t last long though, and it’s time to get back to the results. Carson Daly reveals that the next singer saved is Alisan Porter from Team Christina! No surprise here — Alisan has been a fan favorite since day one and has proven herself week after week. She was SO good in the Semifinals, too.
Up next is another guest performance, this time from One Republic. The group gives the first television performance of their new single “Wherever I Go,” and it’s just so good. Ryan Tedder is hitting those high notes better than ever these days, guys!
Time for another Finalist reveal! Carson announces that Pharrell’s only remaining team member, Hannah Huston, is headed to the finals, and I could not be more relieved for her AND her coach. Hannah closed the show last night and gave her best performance yet, totally proving why she deserves this position.
As usual, the last spot in the finals will be decided by an Instant Save. This week, the Bottom 2 singers will automatically be sent packing, and the other three artists left will get to give one last performance in hopes of earning America’s last minute Twitter vote.
Mary Sarah (Team Blake), Bryan Bautista (Team Christina) and Laith Al-Saadi (Team Adam) are the three who will get one last chance, while Paxton Ingram (Team Blake) and Shalyah Fearing (Team Adam) are sent home without a final performance.
Blake’s country cutie is up first, and she sings a gorgeous and powerful rendition of “Something In The Water” by Carrie Underwood. Many have said throughout the season that Mary Sarah could be the next Carrie…and with this performance, she completely proved that. She stayed totally composed the whole time and hit every note just perfectly. WOW!
Bryan chooses “Adorn” for his last chance song and from the very first note it’s clear this is going to be a tough competition. Bryan totally commands the stage and sounds absolutely great while fighting for his spot in the Finals. Love it!
Finally, it’s Laith’s turn to sing, and he opts for a rendition of “All Along The Watch Tower” for his Instant Save performance. Accompanied by his own talented guitar-playing, Laith brings back the type of set people have grown to love from him on this show. Wow, this is definitely going to be one TOUGH vote!
After the vote, it’s revealed that Laith won the Twitter save and is now a Finalist, meaning Mary Sarah and Bryan are going home one week shy of the finale. What a night, though!
Here’s where the teams stand going into the finals — each Coach has one artist left which is so exciting!
Christina: Alisan Porter
Adam: Laith Al-Saadi
Pharrell: Hannah Huston
Blake: Adam Wakefield
