Aww, Russell Wilson is so sweet! The Seattle Seahawks QB gave the commencement speech at the University of Wisconsin to offer advice to the Class of 2016. And although he could’ve talked all about his own success, he gushed about how much he loves his fiancee, Ciara! Watch his sweet tribute.
Russell Wilson, 27, loves Ciara, 30, so much and just can’t stop gushing about her. The NFL player returned to his former college, University of Wisconsin on May 14 to give the commencement speech for the Class of 2016, and instead of talking about himself, he talked all about his fiancee. He even said she’s way over his league. So sweet!
“Of course I’m also here to share some things I’ve learned,” he said wearing an honorary gown, “things like if you’re dating a woman that’s way out of your league, ask her to marry you.” OMG! Russell didn’t say her name, but it was clear the roaring crowd knew exactly who he was referring to.
It was a little unclear if Ciara was in the crowd watching her man on stage, but we’re sure she felt the love wherever she was. Russell proposed to Ciara in March 2016, after almost a year of dating. “She said Yes!!! Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling… #TrueLove,” he captioned a video of the engagement day on Instagram.
Although Russell thinks Ciara is in a league of her own, the singer also had super sweet things to say about her hubby-to-be. “He inspires me with how driven he is and how committed he is to what he does. He’s also so much fun,” she gushed to E! News. “We have a good time both in-season and off-season, of course off-season we get to do a little more fun things. More date nights. But, he’s the same guy no matter what day of the year, no matter what time of the day.”
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback also shared some life lessons about his NFL career. “If you can throw a football 80 yards, for some reason people think that’s cool. And if you’re playing New England in the Super Bowl,” he joked, “and you’ve got 26 seconds left and you’re down by four and it’s second and goal on their one-yard line, try not to throw an interception.”
But even after Russell continued to shower the graduating class with advice for the future, he couldn’t seem to stop glowing. SO cute! HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Russell’s commencement speech?
