They finally said ‘I do’ — so cute! Devon Still and Asha Joyce tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in New York on May 13, walking down the aisle for the momentous occasion at the perfect setting of the New York Public Library. Aw!
They’re finally hitched! Devon Still and Asha Joyce, both 26, celebrated their union with the most perfect wedding at the New York City Public Library on May 13 in front of close friends and family. Congrats, guys it looked like the most amazing day!
Chosen by The Knot as this year’s dream wedding, the ceremony comes after Devon and Asha put their big day on hold as the football star‘s daughter, Leah Still, 6, battled life-threatening stage 4 neuroblastoma 2 years ago. But it was great to see her front row as a flower girl, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Guests waited with baited breath to see the couple, who descended down opposite staircases at NYPL while classic arrangements of pop songs were being played. But the most touching moment came when Leah saw Asha in her white embellished gown with a flowing train and veil and she began crying with happiness at the sight. So sweet!
The emotions also got to Devon, who wiped away tears when he saw his daughter walk down the aisle. After all, she’s his “inspiration” and now she’s cancer-free it really was the perfect ending to this happy story for this beautiful family. Devon was with Cincinnati Bengals when his daughter was diagnosed, but he is now with Houston Texans.
After the ceremony, Leah ran up to her dad and told him, “We made it through the storm. We made it through hell.” While Devon’s mom, who acted as the pastor, laughed: “Divorce is not an option!”
Later on, and after sliders, shiitake mushrooms and salted caramel macaroons were served, Devon and Leah hit the dance floor and jived to “Uptown Funk” which Leah giggled all the way through. They all sound so happy! Leah also gave a toast to her dad and stepmom!
