RIP Madden Curse? Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski isn’t worried about it! He graces the Madden NFL ’17 video game cover, and a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he’s not afraid of history repeating itself. Keep reading to see what he said!
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, 26, isn’t afraid of the Madden curse! The athlete just landed the cover spot on Madden NFL ’17, and although that usually means an upcoming horrible injury or awful season, an insider has told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that like a pro, he’s not stressing the curse at all.
“Rob has no superstitions towards the curse and is ready for the upcoming season. He wants to be the one who proves the history wrong and he expects to have his best season ever and is looking to do it injury free,” the source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He is taking it all in stride as well because friends and teammates have already been texting him and calling him and giving him crap for it. He’s having fun with it and is not afraid.”
We can see why Rob isn’t worried about the Madden curse. It has been shot down over the past three years. All of those players ended up being fine! Rob even recently talked about the infamous curse to ESPN saying, “It’s definitely reversed itself from back in the day. You have to look at the players that were on it recently. You have Odell, who had an unbelievable year last year. You have Richard Sherman, who went to the Pro Bowl the year he was on it. Calvin Johnson, who broke the receiving record when he was on the cover.”
It doesn’t seem like the curse has taken its toll on Rob yet, anyway. His life actually seems pretty freaking amazing. He just showed off his built body in GQ, and killed it. Did we mention that he shows off his bare butt in those shots, too? Oh, hello! The football player has also has been hanging out with his good friend Drake, 29, during his spare time. Imagine how cool those hangouts are!
Do you think Rob will eventually be hit with the Madden curse, HollywoodLifers?
