Could Klaus and Caroline come face-to-face again in the near future? Julie Plec teases that Caroline’s new shoutout to Klaus was ‘definitely a hint’ about more crossovers!
Klaroline’s not over yet! After Caroline’s not-so subtle shoutout to Klaus on the May 6 episode of The Vampire Diaries, more Klaroline moments could be on the way. In an all-new interview, EP Julie Plec breaks down what it all means and the possibility of more crossovers!
“It’s definitely a hint,” Julie told our sister site TVLine. “This year, as we’ve crossed over, we’ve acknowledged [The Vampire Diaries and The Originals‘] shared universe. As we know from The Originals, there’s a prophecy predicting the demise of the Mikaelson family, so it was a nice little tease for viewers of that show to ask themselves, ‘Wait, what the hell happened to Klaus?'”
The Vampire Diaries and The Originals have crossed over once already this year, and fans have been begging for more. After all, Klaus and the rest of the Mikaelsons did get their start on TVD. Plus, the more Klaroline scenes, the better!
“It’s a rare luxury to have two shows in a shared universe that you could do that,” Julie continued. “So to not do it feels like we’re missing a really fun creative opportunity, a way to celebrate both shows.”
Klaus and Caroline shared a pretty epic moment during the crossover. He promised to protect Stefan and offered his condolences about her mother. The Klaroline fandom will never stop holding out hope for a Klaus and Caroline endgame, and more crossovers may just hold the fandom over.
HollywoodLifers, do you think there should be TVD/Originals crossovers? Do you think Klaus and Caroline are meant to be? Let us know!
