“They are super nervous about their performance tonight. They know that all eyes will be on them and it is more than just a performance. They are going to put everything into it and are happy that they are not doing it live so they can make it as perfect as possible,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com exclusively.

“This is really their coming out party and they want it to go off without a hitch. So they are really trying to keep calm but it has been a nerve racking weekend preparing for it.”

He recently chatted about the song, calling it one of his favorite songs. “It came from a time and place when Gwen and I were beginning our journey together and both experiencing a hard time letting our guards down with each other. The song couldn’t possibly be more honest,” he told Sounds Like Nashville“I’m honored to have written and performed this song with the great Gwen Stefani. Respect.”

Of course, the song is very romantic; here’s the chorus:

Why don’t you go ahead and break my heart
Why are you waiting is it way too hard
If moving on is what you want to do
Why don’t you do it, why don’t you do it baby
You can’t tell me that we’ll still be friends
And maybe someday we can try again
If you really need a brand new start
Why don’t you go ahead and break my heart

See their duet tonight on The Voice at 8PM on NBC.
