Tied up! The San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder will play game 3 of the NBA Western Conference Semi-finals in Oklahoma on May 6th, 2016 at 9:30pm EST. Catch all the NBA playoff action online here!
The San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder are all knotted up at a game a piece headed into the Chesapeake Energy Arena on May 6th for game 3 of this second round playoff series. The Spurs have home court advantage in this best of 7 series, but after dropping game 2 at home, 97-98, they come into game 3 looking like a desperate team. Watch these two basketball powerhouses slug it out online here!
The Spurs are starting to look a little old and slow. Their champion veterans were showing their age in front of the home crowd during their game 2 loss. Big Tim Duncan, 40, went 1-8 from the floor for a whopping 2 points in 28 minutes of action. Tony Parker, 33, was not much better. Tony added 7 points to that total in his 27 minutes.
Let’s add that up. That’s 9 points between 2 all-stars during the playoffs! It is a surprise that game 2 was as close as it was when the Spurs had 2 starters combine for under 10 points, disgraceful. The Thunder can bet on that not happening again. Tony & Tim have been averaging closer to 10 points per game lately, down from their much higher career averages, and will definitely bounce back in game 3.
Meanwhile, the Thunder have been getting it done with a more balanced attack. The Thunder ballers Russell Westbrook, 27, and Kevin Durant, 27, both put up respectable numbers in game 2 and will only be stronger in front of the home crowd. It may be too soon to panic for some Spurs fans but if San Antonio is to have a shot at winning this series, taking this game 3 would be a great way to regain momentum.
What do you think HollywoodLifers? Who will you be rooting for in this huge game 3? Are the Spurs too old to run with the younger Thunder team? Or would you like to see San Antonio steal a road game? Let us know who you will be rooting for in this NBA playoff game!
