Even though the producers told Kit Harington not to tell ANYONE about Jon Snow’s true fate on ‘Game of Thrones,’ he still told one special person his character was still alive. Find out who now!
Kit Harington, 29, just can’t keep a secret! He only told one person (before his family) that Jon Snow was not really dead on Game of Thrones, and when you find out who, you’re going to lose it. This is just too cute!
To explain what was really happening with Jon Snow, executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss took Kit for a walk. Kit revealed in an interview with EW that David told him: “Me and Dan, we know this, a couple producers know this, and George knows this. Now you’re going to know this — and you can’t tell anybody. Not your mom, not your dad, not your family — not anybody. You can’t tell anybody.”
Kit nodded in approval, but he didn’t follow through. He told his girlfriend, Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte. “I told her from early on,” Kit told the outlet. “In fact, Dan said to David, ‘He’s going to tell Rose, isn’t he?’ She was allowed to know.”
The actor couldn’t keep it from his family, but he didn’t tell them any specifics. “I just said, ‘I am still in Thrones, but don’t tell anyone,'” he revealed. But the cast of Game of Thrones had no idea in the beginning. They had all been told Jon Snow was dead, and Kit was forced to lie to them!
Kit and Rose fell in love on the set of Game of Thrones. The two played lovers on the show, but Rose’s character was killed off in season 4.
Jon Snow was resurrected by Melisandre on the May 1 episode of the show. Kit also teased in the interview that season 6 will be Jon’s “biggest season yet.” However, Jon Snow is a changed man after dying. Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
