Lucy Liu stopped by HollywoodLife’s podcast and teased the ‘Elementary’ season 4 finale, which airs May 8, and what’s next for Sherlock and Watson. Click to WATCH!
The drama with Sherlock’s father comes to a shocking conclusion on the May 8 finale of Elementary, and Watson will be by Sherlock’s side through it all. Lucy Liu, 47, gave us scoop about the finale on HollywoodLife’s podcast. Plus, Lucy talks about Sherlock and Watson’s chemistry and working with Tylenol on a very special campaign.
“It’s a continuation,” Lucy said about the finale. “Normally, we have a lot of smaller stories involved, but this is a continuation of his father and the story and how that will conclude.” Sherlock and Watson’s lives are at stake by a criminal network that is connected to the murder attempt on Sherlock’s father. But Sherlock’s drama with his father could change everything. One of the best parts of Elementary is the chemistry between Sherlock and Watson. It’s the whole will-they-or-won’t-they between them that keeps fans coming back for more. Don’t expect things to drastically change between Sherlock and Watson in the near future.
“We [Sherlock and Watson] are not running off into the sunset on Sunday,” Lucy said on our podcast. “You can have chemistry but not necessarily marry the person. I love Johnny, I think he’s incredibly talented. He’s a wonderful partner to work with and I’m glad that’s the case, because sometimes you have to fake it to make it and we don’t have to do that. There’s a way to continue to be creative and work together and have people involved. It’s also a historic piece of literature. We’ve changed it already by having Watson be a woman and bring it to modern day here in NY. Then get together and fall into bed together — that’s just too much.”
Lucy, who is now a mom, recently partnered with Tylenol for its #HowWeFamily campaign. The project encourages families everywhere to share their personal stories.
“I think what happened with them is that they were getting a lot of letters and people saying traditional families are things we see you support, but that’s not how everyone parents,” she told us. “That’s not how everyone families and mothers their child… Love is just love, no matter how many opinions there are out there. You can love your child in every way.”
