How did we get so lucky?! Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon are teaming up with Ryan Murphy for a new TV series. In ‘Feud,’ the leading ladies will star as screen legends Joan Crawford and Bette Davis!
Get ready for a show all about bad blood. AHS vet Jessica Lange, 67, and Susan Sarandon, 69, are set to star in Ryan Murphy’s new anthology series, Feud. The Oscar winners will be taking on one of the biggest feuds in movie history — Joan Crawford versus Bette Davis.
“The first installment of Feud stars Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon and tells the story of the legendary rivalry between two of the greatest movie stars of all time—Joan Crawford (Lange) and Bette Davis (Sarandon), and how they came together in 1962 to collaborate on a picture each hoped would revive their careers,” FX said in a statement. “The result, the critically acclaimed and box office smash What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? ultimately received five Academy Awards nominations and became a cult classic. But for its leads, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, the real horror was working together. The pilot is based in part on the script ‘Best Actress’ by Jaffe Cohen and Michael Zam which Murphy purchased. Murphy will direct several episodes of the series.”
Alfred Molina will star as the film’s director Robert Aldrich, Stanley Tucci as studio titan Jack Warner, Judy Davis as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper and Dominic Burgess as Crawford and Davis’ co-star Victor Buono. The movie was originally released in 1962.
This show sounds incredible. Jessica and Susan are going to kill it. These roles have Emmys written all over them.
This is Jessica’s first TV role since leaving Ryan’s other TV series, American Horror Story. She was one of the many stars of the show since its first season. This is Susan’s first TV show role since her appearance on Mike & Molly in 2014.
