It’s happening, you guys — we’re finally going to get to hear Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s highly-anticipated duet from his new album! The lovebirds will be debuting their new song on ‘The Voice,’ and it’s happening sooner than you might think…
Gwen Stefani, 46, just can’t stay away from The Voice! Even though she’s not a judge this time around, she’s set to perform for the second time in just a few weeks before Season 10 ends — and she’ll be hitting the stage with boyfriend Blake Shelton. The couple is performing their new duet on the show and we literally can’t wait!
“SOOO…I’m performing next week on @NBCTheVoice,” Blake tweeted. “I’m performing with @gwenstefani. We’re performing a song off my album we wrote together!”
UMMM, this is not a drill, people…this is literally happening in less than a week! It was actually Gwen who confirmed the news in April that she and Blake had collaborated on something — she shared a photo of the back of his upcoming album cover, which clearly had a track featuring her.
“Look what i found lying round the house,” she tweeted. “#ispyname.” The song is called “Go Ahead & Break My Heart,” and we have to assume it’s going to feature some fighting words against the pair’s exes, Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert.
“They really bonded and solidified their relationship over this song because they both drew material from their past relationships and spent a lot of time discussing their heartaches and what would work in the song,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. The two haven’t been shy about how much they’ve helped each other get through their respective divorces, so it makes sense that they’d use their talented songwriting skills to ease the pain, too.
Blake’s new album If I’m Honest, which he claims is the best work he’s ever done, drops on May 20, while Gwen aired all her feelings about her split and new romance on This Is What The Truth Feels Like, which she released in March. We can’t wait to hear Blake’s side of things!
