Although the theme of the 2016 Met Gala was Manus X Machina, instead of taking us into the future, some of our favorite looks of the night transported us back to our childhood! From Claire Danes to Nina Dobrev, check out the stars who looked JUST like our favorite princesses during fashion’s biggest night!
It’s every little girl’s dream to grow up and attend a ball, right? So it’s no wonder that when the Met Gala comes around, celebs use the black-tie affair as their perfect excuse to get all dolled up — princess-style of course! While Claire Danes, 37, looked JUST like Cinderella and Nina Dobrev, 27, majorly channeled Belle, we could not get enough of the magical Disney princess vibes out on the red carpet. Find out below who resembled Ariel, Aurora, Elsa, and more!
There was no competition — Claire was THE Cinderella of the Met Ball on May 2. And while the actress’ dress was completely breathtaking all on its own, it also LIT UP! Yes, Claire wore an actual glow-in-the-dark gown that resembled Cinderella’s dress from the movie to a tee — talk about magical! The strapless, poofy dress was designed by Zac Posen and fit the star like a dream. Definitely one of our favorites of the night!
Nina looked as if she stepped right off the pages of a fairytale as she arrived on the Met Gala red carpet. Looking like a modern day Belle from Beauty & The Beast, the star sported a dramatic gold gown with flecks of metallic sparkles dusted all over it. Her full length dress hugged her curves perfectly and her skirt was made of tulle, which only elevated her princess status.
Dressing like Ariel from The Little Mermaid is hard to pull off with style, but Hailee Steinfeld, 19, managed to do it super elegantly! Her floor-length emerald green dress featured a sexy thigh-high slit and bandeau-styled top with shimmery, green flecks on it. Complete with dark red lips and a gold choker, there’s no doubt Hailee had Ariel on the brain when picking out her Met Ball look. Her train even trailed behind her resembling fins!
Another favorite of the night was Karolina Kurkova, 32, who lit up the red carpet in a stunning sheer gown. The model TOTALLY looked like Elsa from Frozen as the white flowers on her dress imitated snow flakes. Her Marchesa gown was almost as magical as Claire’s as it also lit up! The flowers on her gown changed colors and shined bright as she moved about the carpet — amazing!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers — did all these stars look like princesses at the Met ball? Whose gown is your favorite?
