There is nothing we love more than to see what Katy Perry arrives on the red carpet wearing. This time, for the 2016 Met Gala, Katy went above and beyond with this outrageous look. She never ceases to amaze us and we love her ensemble this year — do you?
Katy Perry, 31, looked amazing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit in NYC on May 2. Katy always arrives on the red carpet in outrageous outfits and this time was no different. We never know what to expect from the pop star because she loves to rock the most outlandish looks. This year she opted for a black gown with gorgeous gold embellishments. What do you think of her look?
This year’s theme was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” and Katy totally stepped outside of the box with this ensemble! Not only was her hair twisted up in a high, Marge Simpson hairdo, she bleached her eyebrows!
It was her gown that stole the show, though! She donned a velvet black Prada gown with high shoulders and it was completed covered in gold hardware, sequins, and gadgets.
The back of the dress was completely cut open into a keyhole cutout and her long train was so gorgeous.
Katy accessorized with Fred Leighton jewels — victorian yellow gold and diamond floral motif pendant earrings and a yellow gold and old mine diamond flower ring. We also love her necklace which featured a ton of huge keys dangling off of it — she looked like the gears inside of a clock.
Black leather elbow length gloves and a thick black lace-up belt that cinched in her tiny waist completed this completely decorated ensemble.
What did you guys think of Katy’s red carpet look — did you love it as much as we did?
