Claire Danes’ Dazzling Light-Up Met Gala Dress: Fans Freak Out Over Stunning Look

Claire Danes totally won the Met Gala in her light-up Cinderella gown…and Twitter agrees! Fans totally freaked out over the unexpected glow in the dark look that went with the Fashion in the Age of Technology theme SO perfectly. See the tweets here!

Slay girl, SLAY! Claire Danes, 37, completely killed it at the 2016 Met Gala, looking like an actual princess in a poofy, pale blue gown that literally lit up in the dark. Twitter totally blew up with fans gushing over the insane look once Claire hit the carpet, and we couldn’t agree more about how amazing it is.

When the lights were on, the Homeland star’s Zac Posen dress looked like any other gorgeous ball gown, but it’s what happened when the lights were turned off that really got everyone buzzing. The ensemble illuminated in the dark, with a sparkling pattern throughout and darker lighting all around the edges.

Claire made sure the dress did all the talking when it came to her red carpet look, too, by pulling her hair back into a tight bun and wearing minimal jewelry and makeup. The strapless style was perfect for her bone structure and she seriously pulled it off unlike anyone else could.

This look was teased from behind on social media before the show, and fans were eagerly waiting to see who was flaunting the get-up, with many guessing it would be Heidi Klum. The reaction once it was revealed to be Claire, though, was nothing but positive, as tweets poured in about how breathtaking and elegant she looked.

Having a light-up dress obviously fit the technology/fashion theme just right. Many stars opted for edgier looks to fit the Manus x Machina portion of the concept, but Claire proved that you could wear a classic style and still get it on-point!
