Take a bow, girls! Martina McBride, Cam and Jennifer Nettles wowed the crowd to open the American Country Countdown Awards with a blistering performance of ‘This One’s For The Girls’ on May 1 at The Forum in Los Angeles.
That’s how you do it! Martina McBride, 49, may not have been nominated for any awards, but that didn’t stop her from absolutely rocking the American Country Countdown Awards on May 1. She sang her signature tune, ‘This One’s For The Girls” with Cam, 31, and Jennifer Nettles, 41, as the powerful trio opened their set
Jennifer began the song, singing the first verse. Then Cam took over quite beautifully for the second verse until Martina jumped onto the stage to belt out the chorus, which they all sang together.
All the girls looked fab, with Martina wearing a black, sparkly dress, Jennifer wearing a figure-hugging black dress and Cam a a lacy full skirt, with floral patterns.
Other performers on the night include, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Chris Janson, Thomas Rhett, Cole Swindell, Carrie Underwood, and Toby Keith’s tribute to Merle Haggard.
Before the show, Martina spoke of her love for the 2003 hit that originally featured the backing vocals of Faith Hill. “I always look forward to singing this song because it resonates with so many different people of all different ages,” she told Billboard. “With Jennifer and Cam joining me for the first time, the song will be even more fun and I’m so happy we’ll be performing this together.”
It was great to see Martina back on stage owning it, and she just got the best ovation from her peers and the crowd who loved their wild performance.
