Did Larry Wilmore just say that? The host of the 2016 White House Correspondents’ dinner shocked everyone during the April 30 event, calling President Obama the N-word! Fans were completely stunned that Larry would go that far! Click to see their tweets.
It seems nothing was off limits to Larry Wilmore, 54, during the White House Correspondents’ dinner. While most expected him to take a shot at Donald Trump, 69, no one thought that Larry would end the night by calling President Barack Obama, 54, the n-word! Needless to say, the Internet freaked out over Larry’s language!
“Words alone do me no justice,” Larry said at the end of his comedy set during the April 30 event at the Hilton Hotel in Washington D.C. “So, Mr. President, I’m going to keep it 100.” Larry then pounded his chest, while saying, “Yo, Barry. You did it, my n***a.”
WOW. Larry kept it 100, for sure, but not everyone was thrilled with it. Some called the use of the n-word a “disgrace” and “embarrassing,” while others pointed out that Larry “crossed the line.” Some even said that using such languages was “disrespectful” to the President!
However, some thought it was pretty amazing that Larry called out Barry like that. Some thought that it was the “best part” of the night, while others thought that President Obama kept it 100 himself by giving his response to the n-word.

Most of Larry Wilmore's jokes either weren't funny or crossed the line. Obama's speech was much better. #WHCD

“Larry’s edgy, even provocative, brand of humor means he’s certainly up to the task of skewering politicians of all ideological stripes, and we don’t expect the nation’s news media to escape unscathed, either,” said Carol Lee, president of the White House Correspondent Association, according to the Huffington Post. Well, Larry certainly proved that he’s “edgy.”
Along with poking fun at Obama and Trump, Larry probably had one more goal in mind: be funnier than Cecily Strong, 32. The Saturday Night Live comedian did her best, but her jokes during the 2015 Correspondents dinner did not win over the crowd. In fact, she kinda bombed. Yikes. Though, judging by these reactions, Larry might not have done any better.
What did you think about Larry calling Barack the n-word, HollywoodLifers?
