Filming of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure has stopped until Dylan O’Brien, 24, has fully recovered. A new update on Dylan’s condition since his scary March 2016 set accident reveals that his injuries are still “very serious.” Get better soon, Dylan!
“His injuries are very serious and he needs more time to recover,” said Dylan’s publicist, Jennifer Allen, told our sister site Variety. Production on The Death Cure was supposed to resume on May 9, but it has been paused indefinitely. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
“The resumption of principal photography on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been further delayed to allow Dylan O’Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries,” Fox said in a statement. “We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible.”
Dylan was injured in an on-set car accident and reportedly fractured his cheekbone or orbital socket. He was immediately taken to the hospital for his injuries. He has been recovering in private since the accident.
The Maze Runner: The Death Cure is supposed to be released over President’s Day weekend in 2017. With production now stopped, it looks like fans will have to wait longer for the movie. Dylan is also one of the stars of MTV’s Teen Wolf, which is currently filming its sixth season. We will keep you updated on all things Dylan O’Brien.
Our thoughts are with Dylan as he continues to recover from his injuries.
