Is he or isn’t he? Anderson Cooper seems to be the fan favorite to replace Michael Strahan on ‘Live,’ but has he even been offered the seat next to Kelly Ripa yet? Click inside to WATCH and find out!
Anderson Cooper, 48, is finally answering the question everyone seems to be asking: is he joining Kelly Ripa, 45, on Live? In an interview with Andy Cohen, 47, the CNN news anchor reveals how he feels about everything going on since Michael Strahan, 44, leaving the show and whether or not he’s in the running to replace him.
One very lucky fan called into Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night, April 28, to chat with Anderson Cooper. While on the phone, the woman asked Anderson about the Live drama and where he stands as far as joining as the next co-host. Although Anderson seemed surprised by the answer, his answer was very diplomatic… and maybe even a little vague.
“I love Kelly, and I think Kelly is the heart and soul of that show,” Anderson first shared, singing Kelly’s praises. “It’s gonna go on and continue to be great and I wish Michael the best in his new endeavor”
But then WWHL‘s host Andy Cohen pushed for more, to which Anderson replied: “Look, I’m very happy at CNN. It would be a dream to work with Kelly, but nobody’s offering anything.” Hmm.
Despite Anderson’s statement, Andy encouraged his pal to fight for the spot. “It’s the age of Seacrest,” Andy joked, referring to Ryan Seacrest who is known for doing a dozen different gigs at once.
