Melissa McCarthy, 45, had all of our jaws hitting the floor when she walked the red carpet for TIME magazine’s annual gala honoring its picks for the 100 most influential people. The Boss star was radiant as she posed with husband, Ben Falcone, sporting a beachy waves hairstyle and bright pink lip beauty look.
Looking sophisticated in her pale blue blouse and fitted pencil skirt, it was impossible not to notice just how much weight Melissa has lost over the past year. The actress hasn’t shied away from questions about her slimmer figure, either, speaking to several different magazines about how exactly she managed to drop the weight.
When she first started dropping weight last June, Melissa told Life & Style, “I truly stopped worrying about it. I think there’s something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked.”
Melissa also revealed that what started as a bit of martial arts training for her 2015 film, Spy, turned into a more permanent lifestyle change of making healthier choices. According to OK magazine, Melissa has been sticking to a high-protein, low-carb diet in addition to exercising.
At the gala, Melissa spoke about joining the Gilmore Girls once again, and how sentimental it was being back on set. Melissa broke the news to Ellen DeGeneres that she will be reprising her role as Sookie in Gilmore Girls in early April on the Ellen show. The revival will be on Netflix, released as four 90-minute episodes, and now that the whole cast is back for it, we can’t wait to watch it.
