Way harsh! Former supermodel Rebecca Romijn seriously burned Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid on April 26! She said the two runway walkers are ‘not true supermodels’. Yikes! See why she believe they aren’t the real deal, right here.
Kendall Jenner, 20, and Gigi Hadid, 21, are bonafide supermodels who slay on the runway, but another legendary model doesn’t buy it. Rebecca Romijn, 43, totally slammed the two pretty pals, saying that they are “not true supermodels.” Find out why, here.
Yikes! Rebecca seems to believe that Kendall’s 55.3 million followers and Gigi’s 16.7 million followers are the only reason every major designer has put them in their runway shows. “No one has proven yet that numbers of followers translates to revenue,” Rebecca told ET on Tuesday, April 26. “So it is frustrating.”
She also believe that other people in the industry feel the same way. “I know a lot of people — legitimate fashion people — can’t stand it,” she said. “Hate it that these, you know, social media stars are now the supermodels in fashion. They are not true supermodels.” Ouch! We think it’s fair to call the girls supermodels – they have been in every major show, done major campaigns and Kendall recently graced the cover of Vogue. Apparently that isn’t enough to make her a “real” model to Rebecca.
“The thing is, I have always looked to Vogue magazine to lead the way, not be a follower,” she said. “I rely on Vogue to set the standard, not follow what everybody else is doing. So I have been disappointed that fashion magazines have been supporting this trend of social media stars to set our style standards. But it will change; fashion always does.” Seriously, burn.
