Being a mother is Drew Barrymore’s ‘mission’ in life and, needless to say, her two super cute daughters are her world. So how does the superstar mom plan on celebrating the day that’s all ABOUT mothers? You may be surprised — and HollywoodLife.com has the EXCLUSIVE scoop!
Mother’s Day is Drew Barrymore‘s, 41, “favorite holiday,” and while parenting little Olive, 3, and Frankie, 2, is her favorite role yet, when Mother’s Day rolls around, the actress would rather do something for THEM than have the little girls shower HER with love. And as for this year? Drew has the best Mother’s Day plans of all!
“You know I don’t have any plans funny enough,” Drew revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “My kids and I are really a super crafty house; every day it is like popsicle stick houses or cutting shamrocks out of construction paper for Saint Patrick’s Day, Knish cups for Passover — I mean we really go the distance with arts and crafts! So I am sure we will make something and I am sure we will go to the park.” Aw! Sounds like a perfect day to us! Sometimes some quality craft and play time is all a mother really needs — just as long as she gets to spend ample time with her little ones.
“You know, I love a nice balance of alone time with them — just the three of us watching Tom & Jerry cartoons and just have hang sessions and being Mom and daughters,” Drew added. “And then I love getting together with the whole family and friends and having a nice balance of togetherness and intimacy!” Drew definitely seems to know how to do Mother’s Day right, not to mention family time. But after all, it IS her favorite day of the year.
“Mother’s Day is my favorite day, period,” the actress and producer revealed to Parade magazine earlier this month. And we don’t blame the star as it gives her an excuse to do something super special in her girls’ honor. In fact, it’s Drew’s tradition to celebrate Mother’s Day by doing philanthropic work in her daughters’ names. “I make a Hallmark card for them and tell them what I did in their honor and in their name, and I put it in a pink shoebox,” Drew gushed. “The box is growing, and it’s so meaningful.”
How sweet is THAT? “I want to influence them to be bigger than themselves on their favorite days,” the blonde beauty added. “I want to inspire them to be good girls.” Well Drew, we think you’re doing a great job so far! Olive and Frankie are definitely lucky girls! And Frankie actually recently celebrated her birthday and Drew threw one heck of a party for the youngster. “It was a great day and it went off without a hitch,” she dished. “The kids had fun.”
Do you think Drew’s Mother’s Day plans are cute, HollywoodLifers? How will YOU celebrate the holiday?
