This is so eerie! Just six days before Prince died on April 21, the icon’s private airplane was forced to make an emergency landing after Prince allegedly overdosed. And from the sound of the frightening audio transmissions between Prince’s pilot and air traffic control, it’s clear the singer was in VERY bad shape.
After Prince‘s unexpected death on April 21, it’s becoming more and more clear that the prolific singer was in extremely poor health in the days leading up to his passing. The “Purple Rain” singer’s private jet even had to make an emergency, Illinois landing in order to save his life on April 15 after he reportedly took too much Percocet. SO sad! Take a listen to the disturbing audio from onboard Prince’s plane at the time of the crisis — it’s beyond alarming!
In the clip, which was obtained by TMZ, Prince’s plane is identified as “990,” and at 48 seconds you can hear the controller from Chicago Center tell the pilot, “CFR [certified first responder] will be waiting.” The pilot thankfully called for the paramedics to greet the plane as SOON as it landed, which ultimately could have been what saved Prince’s life on the 15th. How scary! We can only imagine what was going through the pilot’s head as he did everything he could to rescue his famous passenger.
But what’s even more interesting, is that you can hear air traffic control ask if the sick patient was male or female. Apparently Prince’s pilot didn’t disclose who is passenger actually was! As soon as the plane touched down, paramedics reportedly gave Prince a “save drug,” which was intended to reverse the affects of his Percocet overdose. Luckily, it worked! But unfortunately, Prince ended up tragically dying less than a week after the scary incident.
And while there has been no indication yet if the legend’s supposed OD is linked to his death, it could provide some helpful clues as to what did in fact kill Prince. As previously reported, the singer was advised to stay in the hospital for 24 hours after his emergency airplane landing. But he decided to go home instead after only three hours when he found out he couldn’t have a private room, according to the Mirror.
At this point it’s also still unknown if drugs had anything to do with his death at all. And although an autopsy has been completed, the results won’t be released until a toxicology screening comes back. What we do know is that Suicide has been ruled out, and there were no signs of trauma on his body, which was found in the elevator at his Paisley Park complex in Minnesota. This is so devastating! We hope Prince’s family, friends, and fans will have some closure soon.
