Uh oh! A shocking new report claims Prince died without leaving a will, which means six of his siblings — including his half brothers and sisters — could split his $300 million fortune. Get all the details here!
Prince was worth a ton of money at the time of his death on April 21, but he reportedly died without leaving a will, so that means his massive fortune may be passed to his closest living relatives. Find out who they are, and how the big chunk of change will be divided, here.
“He did not have a will,” sources who worked with the music legend as recently as 2014 told TMZ. The site goes on to say that it’s possible he could have drafted one up in the past two years, but their sources said, “based on his history with them that’s highly unlikely.”
“Various professionals raised the issue of a will with Prince but he never had an interest in drafting one,” the sources added.
Thus far, no one has come forward with a will, and if he died without one as this report suggests, under Minnesota law, the closest living relatives would share his estate equally.
Prince had 8 brothers and sisters. Only sister Tyka is a full sibling, but apparently that doesn’t matter. They’ll still split the fortune equally if there isn’t a will, TMZ claims. Two of Prince’s siblings already died, so that leaves six remaining relatives. But if those who died had kids, then their shares would be passed on to their children.
At the time of his death, Prince had an estimated net worth of $300 million.
