The April 24 premiere of ‘Game of Thrones’ was one hell of an episode. From multiple deaths to epic rescues and a stunning final moment, the show is back and better than ever!
No one could have foreseen that Game of Thrones ending. The April 24 season 6 premiere finished off with one jaw-dropping moment that left us with so many questions. Elsewhere in the episode, we learned Jon Snow’s true fate, Sansa and Theon met up with some familiar faces, Daenerys was taken prisoner, and Jaime vowed to get revenge.
In case you were wondering, Jon Snow is definitely dead. Our first glimpse of season 6 was of his dead body lying on a bed of snow. Davos showed up and saw a body in the distance. When he saw it was Jon Snow, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
Davos had his men get Jon inside. He was cold and still. They closed his eyes. Castle Black was no longer safe — for anyone. Davos could only trust a few select men, Ghost and possibly Melisandre. She came knocking pretty quickly. “I saw him,” Melisandre said about Jon. “In the flames. Fighting at Winterfell.” That means he’s totally coming back, right?! “I can’t speak for the flames, but he’s gone,” Davos said.
Alliser gladly broke the news to the rest of the Night’s Watch that Jon Snow was dead. He said Jon was going to destroy the Night’s Watch by letting the Wildlings in. He tried to justify killing Jon, but he still came off as a total dick.
Bow Down To Sansa
Over in Winterfell, Ramsay was by Myranda’s bedside. Like Jon Snow, she was a goner, too. Theon/Reek had thrown her to her death. Ramsay seemed actually upset over her death. He almost shed a few tears. Who knew he had feelings? But then he said to feed her to the dogs instead of burying her, so…
Sansa fleeing Winterfell put Ramsay in a bind. Without Sansa, Ramsay couldn’t produce an heir. Without an heir, Ramsay basically had no cards left to play when it came to being Lord of Winterfell.
Meanwhile, Sansa and Theon were on the run in the woods. They were forced to go full Revenant and cross an icy river. Theon held her hand the entire time. He hugged her and kept her warm. When they heard Ramsay’s men coming, he was ready to sacrifice himself to save Sansa. Unfortunately, the dogs still found her.
But then Brienne and Podrick showed up to save the day! THANK GOD. Sansa would not be able to endure much more of Ramsay. Theon even became a hero and saved Podrick. Brienne pledged her loyalty to Sansa, and it was an amazing moment. They’re going to make a great team. Sansa’s sister, Arya, wasn’t having as good a time. She was still blind and wasn’t adapting so well to it.
It’s A Woman’s World
Cersei, fresh off her walk of shame, heard about the ship arriving from Dorne. She was so happy to see Myrcella, but she wasn’t meant to see her alive again. Jaime’s look as he arrived said it all. Something was wrong. Cersei instantly knew it was Myrcella.
Cersei knew that Myrcella was the brightest spot in her life. She was innocent, pure, good. Cersei started to believe the prophecy that the witch had told her all those years ago. She would have three children, and they would all die. Jaime comforted her and vowed to take back everything that had been stolen from them.
Margaery was still a prisoner in King’s Landing. Even after a visit from the High Sparrow, she refused to confess. Learn from Cersei, M.
Doran found out about Myrcella, but then he was killed about Ellaria. She promised that “weak men will never rule Dorne again.” Ellaria and the Sand Snakes were kicking ass and taking names. Obara put a spear right through Trystane’s face. It was brutal.
Who Is The Fairest One Of All?
Over in Meereen, Tyrion and Varys were trying to go through the destruction. Meereen was in turmoil, and it was up to Tyrion to bring it back from the brink until Daenarys returned. Speaking of Daenerys, Daario and Jorah were well on their way to find their queen.
Daario got right to the heart of the matter and asked why Jorah kept coming back to Dany when she never returned his feelings. “You know why,” Jorah said. Jorah will always love Dany. On their journey, Jorah realized that the Dothraki had her.
She was now a prisoner and was being treated like one. Men were saying terrible things about what they would do to her. She was taken to Khal Moro. He laughed in Dany’s face when she told him who she was. He said she was the “Queen of Nothing.” When Daenerys revealed she was the widow of Khal Drogo, everything changed. No one was allowed to touch a khal’s widow. But she wasn’t allowed to go back and rule her kingdom. She was supposed to go to Dosh Khaleen and live out the rest of her days with other widows.
Alliser told Davos he had until nightfall to surrender or else. Davos believed Melisandre could help. He had seen what she could do. Well, something was up with Melisandre. In her private room, she stripped naked. When she looked in the mirror, she had aged significantly. Her beauty was gone. She was very, very old. How old is Melisandre really? Who is the Red Woman?
WTF. But will she be able to bring Jon Snow back? That is the REAL question.
