Legendary creative director for ‘Vogue’, and gorgeous former model Grace Coddington has some strong opinions about reigning supermodels Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. Their fame ‘annoys’ her! Ouch!
Any criticism coming from a legendary fashion force like Grace Coddington, 75, has to sting! The iconic redheaded Vogue creative director said in an interview with Refinery29 that she felt a little annoyed by Kendall Jenner, 20, and Gigi Hadid, 21, rising to fame in the modeling industry! Was this a diss? What did she mean?
“[Gigi and Kendall] are a different kind of celebrity — they represent this moment in time very much. […] It sort of annoyed me at first, but I do think both Gigi and Kendall are really good models, and that they could’ve [gotten where they are] without all that Instagram,” Grace told Refinery29. “It’s just now that everybody is judged by how many followers they have and things like that — which is a shame,” Grace continued. “It’s almost like, if you ram it down your throat, I find it unattractive. But, as I said, they have the personality and the beauty that would probably have made them as important as they are anyway, without the added importance of Instagram.”
Whew! Grace actually has the utmost respect for Kendall and Gigi. She thinks they’re lovely models who get an unfair label, since they’re super famous outside of being models. She’s right! As a former model and one of the highest authorities in the fashion industry, she should know! And if you must know, Grace revealed that she totally uses Instagram too! Nobody can resist the allure of a good selfie, especially when you’ve got hair that fabulous!
